Who will hit Homerun 250,000?
ruff13 found this 2 months ago on www.baseball-reference.com

Since Major League Baseball was able to track Homerun's all the way back to 1876, they are approaching a milestone. That number...250,000 Homeruns all-time for the Major Leagues. With only 91 more to go...who will hit #250,000?

I remember Bob Watson of the Astros, and later of the Sox, in the Seventies scoring the one millionth run.

MIKEYMOM..
Thanks. Good obseravation and one of my favorite sites. If you look at the trend for HR's, @ 120,000 in 1977 it was every three years for 10,000, expansion(Toronto and Seattle). Then @ 180,000 it became every two years, approximately after the 1994 strike. Any coincidence there??? At 220,000 it was only 1 1/2 years for '03-'04. And when did the Mitchell report come out? And now it has slowed down again. Hmmmmmm.

a-rod will hit it in a meaningless spot with no-one on base in a game after the yankees are eliminated to secure his MVP for 2008. micheal kay and ken singleton will be so excited that they will exchange vows right in the middle of the broadcast.
